I spilled a drink down my top at a rave and went to the toilet crying. I got chatting to a girl in there who was super lovely and an absolute hero who gave me her top to wear for the rest of the evening - she spent the whole night in her bra!
Whenever I go on a night out, I like to ask girls in the toilets their worst boy icks. I have a list of about 50 on my notes app that I've collected. My all-time fave is 'asking for the soup of the day' and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Amy, babe, wherever you are, I hope you're doing good.
I met Vanessa Kirby from The Crown in the queue at Bethnal Green Working Men's Club and turned into full fan-girl "I really think we could be best friends" and basically followed her into the cubicle. Took me a few mins to realise I'd become that red-haired nutter from Notting Hill. Needless to say we will not be reuniting as there's probably a restraining order out against me.
This woman overheard me in the loos debating whether to get a boob job. She told me she'd had hers done a few months ago, proceeded to get fully topless, and let me touch up her new boobs for ‘quality assessment’. Both her and her breasts were glorious, and I went on to get the number for her surgeon and now have a fabulous pair of my own! I think of her every time I look down and wish I could find her to thank her.
I spent almost 30 minutes at a bar's bathroom talking about Greek mythology with a woman I met there. A symbolic tattoo triggered the conversation. This was years ago and haven't seen or spoken to each other since.
Met Jack O'Connell in a bar toilet in Ipswich. Chatted to him about his tattoos and asked him what I should get. He showed me all his and advised me not to get one on the ribs as it hurt too much!
In the bathroom in a pub in Notting Hill I saw that a girl had graffiti her Instagram name on the toilet door. Out of curiosity I searched her account and thought she looked so cool. I messaged her saying ‘saw your name on the toilet door… you look so cool!’. She messaged back and we’ve been Instagram friends ever since!! I’ve never met her but maybe I could invite her with me if I won!!
In 1980, in the loos of a bar called Bootleggers in Fort Lauderdale, I met a girl from Leeds, it was v exciting because I hadn’t met anyone from home in 6 months (I’m from London) we couldn’t stop laughing and talking, we went back out to the bar, she then called over her date to introduce me and he was the guy I had come to meet too! We dumped him and are still BFFs 42 years later ❤️
She started telling me her ex was in the club with another girl. she was a make up artist and spent 30 minutes giving me an amazing make over to impress my date patiently waiting at the bar. During this time I was sympathizing and asked why they split. It slowly dawned on me her ex was my new date. I was mortified!
